About the role
A drawback claim is only as good as the paper behind it. Every exported unit has to trace back to an import entry, with proof that it left the country.
Our platform reads invoices, entry summaries and shipping documents and matches exports to imports. You'll be the person who checks that work, closes the gaps and gets each claim ready for filing.
Pay and benefits
- Pay
- $65,000–$85,000 a year
- Also included
- Equity (stock options)
- Benefits
- Health insurance and paid time off.
What you'll do
- Review the commercial invoices, entry summaries, bills of lading and proof of export our platform extracts, and approve or correct what it read.
- Resolve matching gaps: missing proof of export, unit-of-measure differences, products without a tariff classification.
- Prepare claim packages for our licensed broker to file, and help answer Customs' questions during review.
- Keep each client's document checklist moving: what's in, what's missing and who to follow up with.
What we're looking for
- 1+ years in customs compliance, trade operations, freight forwarding or a customs brokerage.
- Careful with large spreadsheets and stacks of documents.
- Comfortable with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and reading a CBP Form 7501.
Nice to have
- Unused merchandise or manufacturing drawback experience.
- A Certified Customs Specialist credential, or working toward the customs broker exam.
